Job Title: Communications Specialist (Part-Time Contractor)
Rate: $35/hour
Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Location: Remote (preferred candidates based in North Carolina or Eastern Time Zone)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to support strategic communications for mission-driven organizations. This part-time role is ideal for someone with nonprofit experience who can both think strategically and execute high-quality content across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, write, design, and schedule content across social media platforms
- Draft and design email campaigns, including newsletters and announcements
- Create and update website content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement
- Collaborate on communications strategies and campaign planning
- Maintain brand voice and messaging across all channels
- Assist in pulling analytics and reporting
- Track performance and suggest improvements based on analytics and best practices
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of communications experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
- Experience designing content in Canva
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
- Experience managing social media accounts for organizations or campaigns
- Basic understanding of website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace)
- Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects independently
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with advocacy or mission-driven campaigns
- Basic knowledge of analytics tools (social media insights, Google Analytics, etc.)
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content
