More Than 100 Communicators Attend Sold-Out Event

Designed with nonprofit communicators in mind, the first-ever Create Good Conference was held in Raleigh, NC on Monday, March 16. Create Good inspired attendees by infusing practical learning with fun, creativity and energy.

With no other communications conference of its kind, Create Good sold out weeks ahead of the event, showing a real need for more events tailored to nonprofit communicators.

Presented by nonprofit communications agency, BC/DC Ideas, and sponsored by Burroughs Wellcome Fund, 125 nonprofit professionals convened in Downtown Raleigh to discover new strategies, tactics and creative ideas to tackle ever facet of nonprofit communications. Attendees walked away from this half-day conference inspired and confident to try something new.

“By providing a space for communications professionals to share creative ideas, understand industry best practices and gain the confidence to try something new, we are moving the nonprofit sector forward and arming communicators with the tools they need to create great work,” said Dawn Crawford, BC/DC Ideas.

In it’s first year, Create Good’s roster of speakers represented the region’s best and brightest nonprofit leaders including communicators from the NC Conservation Network, Food Bank CENC, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation and many more. Kivi Leroux Miller president of the Nonprofit Marketing Guide presented the keynote address.

The sessions helped attendees tackle an array of nonprofit challenges from reacting to a crisis, finding funding, hosting a design panel, and using the latest technology to amplify a message.

Crawford added, “Each of the sessions were chosen with one goal in mind: to give attendees applicable lessons they can apply on Tuesday. We wanted everyone to go back to the office armed with real tactics and the confidence to try something new.”

Create Good is the first conference of its kind designed specifically for nonprofit communications professionals. Across the southeast, countless conferences are being offered but none have been tailored specifically to this group or their needs.

After the overwhelming response and success of the first year, planning is already underway for next year’s event. Visit the Create Good Website to join our invite list for the second annual conference scheduled for 2016.
